Since 2007, our mission has been to provide a unique, stimulating educational environment for students. Our belief is that the passion for education, whether to teach or to learn, transcends culture, location, and time. Our number one priority has always been our students and their satisfaction with USA LaoTu. We owe great thanks to our students because without their help, we could not have created the esteemed educational environment and community that we have today.

Therefore prior to registration, please thoroughly review our policies and rules as stated below, to ensure that you can help continue, encourage, and improve the educational environment we’ve already built.

COPYRIGHT POLICY

All aspects of USA LaoTu’s intellectual property including but not limited to: courses, course videos, course audio files, course materials, are registered with the US Copyright Office and protected under State and Federal law, Title 17 of the United States Code. Under Title 17, Section 504 of the United States Code, the consequences of copyright infringement include statutory damages between $750 and $30,000 per work and damages of up to $150,000 per work for willful infringement.

All USA LaoTu intellectual property is for limited, authorized, non-commercial, personal use only. USA LaoTu courses and materials may not be recorded, reproduced, republished, distributed, sold, traded, copied, displayed, posted or transmitted in any form or by any means, including, but not limited to, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise without the prior express knowledge, consent, and authorization of USA LaoTu.

Knowingly purchasing, receiving, accepting, or exchanging unauthorized copies of USA LaoTu courses, videos, and materials for commercial or non-commercial purposes also constitutes copyright infringement punishable by Title 17 of the United States Code.  

Any unauthorized use, access, storage, recording, reproduction, republication, distribution, sale, trade, copying, display, posting, downloading, buying, receiving, or printing of USA LaoTu intellectual property for any commercial or non-commercial purpose, whether on behalf of yourself or on behalf of any third party constitutes copyright infringement and a material breach of these terms and conditions. USA LaoTu will prosecute violators to the fullest extent of the law.

All copyright infringement should be reported to inquiries@usalaotu.com.

TRADEMARK POLICY

‘USA Lao Tu’ and ’美国老土’ are the exclusive trademarks of USA LaoTu registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. State and Federal law, Title 15 of the United States Code, protect USA LaoTu registered trademarks.

Any unauthorized use, access, storage, recording, reproduction, republication, distribution, sale, trade, copying, display, posting, downloading, or printing of ‘USA LaoTu’ and/or ’美国老土’ constitutes trademark infringement and a material breach of these terms and conditions. USA LaoTu will prosecute violators to the fullest extent of the law.

All trademark infringement should be reported to inquiries@usalaotu.com.

COURSE POLICY

USA LaoTu is an online training provider. All courses are held online. Upon registration, students will receive: 1) one-year access to the most recent course video(s) available for his or her registered course(s); 2) one-year access to the corresponding course forum where a course forum is available. Core Package students will also receive a one-year access to the weekly Wednesday webinar sessions.

Each student will also receive one opportunity to attend a live online session for his or her registered course(s) where a live course is offered within the student’s one-year registration period. Students must take the first live online course available immediately following their registration date. USA LaoTu does not guarantee that all courses will have a live course available within each student’s one year access period.

Course schedules are announced well in advance so that students have a chance to attend the first live course after their registration. We are not responsible for students who miss their live course opportunity.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they have a stable, fast, and working network connection to receive the best quality access for online courses, streaming, and material downloads.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Access to course videos and materials are emailed out as soon as payment has been received and processed. Because of this, all sales of live and pre-recorded courses are final and non-refundable.

Refunds may be granted in exceptional circumstances for if a refund request is submitted to USA LaoTu within seven (7) days of registration or twenty-four (24) hours after the first class, whichever occurs sooner. USA LaoTu reserves the right to determine whether an exceptional circumstance exists. In the event that a refund is granted, a prorated amount for accessed materials (up to 50% of course fee) and course videos (up to 50% of course fee) will be deducted.

A processing and administration fee of $85.00 will be deducted from all approved refunds.

RETAKE POLICY

The course retake price is 50% off the course price and students are eligible for retake within their one year of course purchase/registration provided that the course content has not changed or been updated.

MATERIAL RE-DOWNLOAD POLICY

Students are given two opportunities to download the course materials during the course period. Once downloaded, students should backup their course materials. USA LaoTu is not responsible for lost materials due to computer failure, destruction, theft, loss or misplacement.

All material re-download after the course period is subject to a $235 per course fee.

FORUM POLICY

USA LaoTu forums are created to enrich students’ learning experience by providing a space for quality discussions, Q&A, and feedback. Abuse of the forums including but not limited to using it for unauthorized personal purposes and/or to defame, abuse, stalk, harass, threaten, or otherwise violate the rights of others, by sending unsolicited emails or messages will result in immediate content deletion and account suspension.

REFERRAL POLICY

Existing students who refer a new student to USA LaoTu will receive a one-time 5% referral fee (calculated off of new student’s first registration total) which will be credited to the existing student’s account for future class tuition or can be mailed to the student in the form of a Target Gift Card.

The 5% referral fee will be credited to the existing student, or mailed out in the form of a Target Gift Card, 90 days after new student’s registration. If the new student cancels his/her registration, no referral fee will be issued to the existing student. New students must be individuals who have never taken a course with USA LaoTu.

RIGHT TO TERMINATE POLICY

USA LaoTu reserves the right to immediately and permanently terminate or restrict a student’s access and account for infringement of the above rules and policies.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

We reserve the right to revise our registration terms at any time.
